What could 3.9 billion people possibly have in common? Unfortunately, this half of the world’s population still faces obstacles because of their gender. In Australia, this manifests as a lack of female leaders in companies and governments, exclusion from certain industries, consistent income and wage gaps, and gendered violence. Globally, many women are unable to choose who to marry and when, whether to have children and how many, and are barred access to education, employment and financial security.
