Mental Health is an area that affects a quietly enormous number of Australians. A 2019 Study found that almost half of all Australians aged 16-85 had experienced a mental health issue in their lifetime. This includes a range of disorders and symptoms that can impact mood and thinking such as anxiety, depression, paranoia and panic attacks. Mental ill-health has increased in recent years, especially in the wake of a global pandemic. Many consider this to be a worsening crisis, especially among younger Australians.
There are a number of incredible organisations working towards removing the stigma of mental health problems and offering avenues for treatment and support. This includes services and guidance for those who struggle with poor mental health, as well as assistance for family, friends and colleagues who may be indirectly affected.
