Blockbuster season is coming in hot. Rotate that mobile and check out the latest in popcorny goodness - from Greta Gerwig’s plastic-fantastic fantasy, to Christopher Nolan’s explosive IMAX biopic and Tom Cruise’s latest death-defiant leap. And while you’re there, Grab a Good Tix to beat the crowd and see the movies first when they drop in July!
With these two June new releases, it’s all about discovery - some more swashbuckling than others! First up, Sweet As is the beautiful new First Nations feature from Nyulnyul and Yawuru woman Jub Clerc. We meet Murra, who’s 15 and starting to lash out (and break laws)... so her policeman uncle tries to help by sending her on a “photo safari” through the rugged yet serene Pilbara country. It’s more than just a road-trip movie, or a coming-of-age story… it’s a journey where Murra connects with country, her future, and her true self.
If you’re more into archaeology than photography, perhaps this bloke is more your speed? Yep, Harrison Ford is back for his fifth and final adventure in that creaky leather jacket. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny sees us flashing back to 1944 where Indy battles Nazis from obtaining a mysterious dial known as the Antikythera. 25 years later, his goddaughter emerges to join Indy on a new journey to grab the Dial - and, you know, save the world and stuff. We’re totally intrigued to see how Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her unique humour will fit into Indy’s world.
Sweet As is in cinemas nationwide now.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theatres on June 28.
